Portofino recognised for its high-precision profiles

Lewens has had cause for celebration right at the start of the 2021 season. The company’s designers and management were delighted to receive the GDA Aluminium Profile Award from the German aluminium industry association, the Gesamtverband der Aluminiumindustrie (GDA).

The award was given for the development of profiles for a high-precision rail system, which is distinguished by its high fit accuracy and ease of assembly. The rail system forms the basis for the new Portofino awning model, which is available in two versions for different applications.

Perfect fabric tensioning thanks to zip technology

Equipped with patented balancing spring technology and a zip guide, which guides the fabric concealed in lateral rails in the manner of a zip closure, the rail system ensures perfect tensioning of the fabric, greater wind safety and unbroken shade from the sun with the new Portofino awning. The model is available in two variants, Interior and Pergola, both as single units in formats up to 6 metres wide and with a 5-metre drop. For greater flexibility and comfort, Lewens will also be offering the Portofino Pergola type optionally with Vario posts during the 2021 season. These permit the front corners to be lowered for variable sun protection. The water is also able to drain swiftly in this way during light showers. Other optional features such as remote radio control using io technology and a new LED lighting strip integrated into the casing provide added comfort and create a cosy outdoor atmosphere.
