Solution dyeing
In solution dyeing, the colour pigments are introduced into the individual fibres during the production process. The coloured fibres are then spun to form a fully dyed yarn. Awning fabrics made from such yarns remain colour-fast over a long period and retain their bright colours. Lewens uses only solution-dyed acrylic and polyester fabrics.
Retrospective dyeing
When yarns or bales are dyed retrospectively, the colours fade faster as they only adhere to the surface of the material
